TYPO OF THE WEEK
Real Mistakes, Real Laughs:

Air bases were built on captured islands of Tinian, Saipan, and Guam but they were barley within the range of the long-range bombers.

(hope the bombadiers weren't on gluten-free diets)

HUG A VETERAN TODAY

No matter what your political beliefs are, we can all agree that the men, women, and dogs (bet you never thought about the canine soldiers who also serve our country!) of the U.S. armed forces deserve our gratitude and respect. I couldn't express it any better than this excerpt from a Veteran's Day speech by Capt. David Hoffman, USN (Ret.), who spent 15 months in a Hanoi prison camp:

  • It isn't a reporter who gives you freedom of the press; it's a veteran.
  • It isn't a campus organizer who gives you the right to assemble; it's a veteran.
  • It isn't a politician who gives you the right to vote; it's a veteran.
  • It isn't a clergyman who gives you freedom of religion; it's a veteran.
  • It isn't a lawyer who gives you the right to a speedy and fair trial; it's a veteran.
  • It isn't an author who gives you freedom of speech; it's a veteran.

To all those who continue to safeguard our way of life, a sincere thank you!
